What is the Top Gun Championships Main Event Top Gun Showdown? The Main Event Divisions offers a Flushing Showdown and Pointing Showdown on Sunday. This showdown determines the winners of the Main Event Top Gun Divisions.
How does one earn a chance to compete in the Main Event Showdown? The number of teams that are invited to play in the Top Gun Showdown depends on the number of total entries. Below are two sinarios: the Top 12 Showdown and Top 8 Showdown.
In the Top 12 Showdown, three dogs in each division (Main Event Flusher and Main Event Pointer) of each group (A, B, C, and D, based on starting field) will earn their spot in the Main Event Showdown. The top three spots are earned by obtaining the best combined score from Saturday and Suday play. The graphic below summarizes the format.

In the Top 8 Showdown, two dogs in each division (Main Event Flusher and Main Event Pointer) of each group (A, B, C, and D, based on starting field) will earn their spot in the Main Event Showdown. The top two spots are earned by obtaining the best combined score from Saturday AM and PM play. The graphic below summarizes the format.
How is the Sunday Showdown order determined? Showdown qualifiers will draw their Sunday Run Order on Saturday evening.
What is expected of a competitor in the Showdown? Expectations are as follows.
- Each competitor in the Main Event Showdown on Sunday will be expected to arrive no later than 8:00 AM on Sunday for sequestering.
- Each competitor will be expected to complete two runs for a combined score.
How does one win the Showdown and therefore Main Event? The competitor with the best combined score will be declared the Champion, the second best combined score will be declared the Reserve Champion, etc. through Fifth Place for both the flushing and pointing Main Event divisions.
